If you are the American that complains about government or isn’t satisfied with how things are run in your city, state, or even school district, there’s NO reason why you should not be registered to vote AND why you should cast your vote on Election Day. Even if you don’t complain, but you care about your community or about the country as a whole, you should absolutely go vote. Each state (and the District of Columbia) have different deadlines for being able to vote in the upcoming election. A lot of states have a deadline of September 29, this coming Saturday, for when you have to send in your registration. Some states, such as Florida and South Dakota, have already started early voting. To find out what voting rules govern your state, go visit www.gottavote.org or to www.gottaregister.com to submit your registration online.
Yes, it’s a Presidential Election year, but other elections are being held-such as Senate and School Districts. I implore you all to visit the Office of Elections website for your home state and find about the candidates.
I doubt that you will find a candidate that supports ALL of the same issues that you do. The most important thing, IMHO, is to find the candidate that you feel has your best interest at heart. Look at the totality of the candidate and not just one issue. And know the voting rights in your state; don’t be that person that just assumes things.
